I am making a figure and the hip doesnt work properly. The bending is all wrong. How do I fix the bending when the hip doesnt have the same parameters as the other joints?

try changing the rotation axis. If you are doing a human the hip axis should be y,z,x(twist, side, bend). A dog or anything like a sname heading towards the camera should be z,y,x(twist, side, bend). You were pretty vague so not sure what you mean.

Its a two legged figure. It bends the right way but the object is distorted a lot when it is bent. I need to get rid of the distortion. This has happened in a few figures I have made.
