1812 Coatee testers needed The coatee is close to being finished. It is time to take it for a test spin if you like this weekend. Reactions and comments would be appreciated. Clearer eyes are needed to find more of the problems with the object file and cr2. Suggestions for improvement with be taken under advisement. Additions to this coatee since the last posted report are: Two buttons on the left cuff were moved out. Fixed Mariner Paints brake through on leg lifts. Polygon norms fixed in interior Collar lining Repaired epaulettes on the collar. Known problems to be solved and additions to be made: The object file should be cleaned up to reduce it's size and segmented usemtl's. I think 1meg is a bit big for a coat before morphs are added to the cr2. But in general, most of the problems with the coatee are in the cr2 file. As in all new figures, there are joint problems to be resolved. Hiding the Parent Figure's collars, shoulders, and forearms is needed on most poses. The worst problem is still in the Shldr joint at the ForeArm with the "twist parameter". This problem has not been resolved as yet and greatly effects the coat's usability at many angles of view without the use of a magnet. These problem will be worked on. The epaulettes still look odd in some poses and fine in others. I do not know if this can be resolved. The lining should be added to the neck, but there seems to be some problem at the chest joint on some poses that may need to be addressed. The neck may be to cartoonist in it's depth of trim and needs some rework or replaced. A head may be needed or the neck parameters adjusted to restrict up and down movement. The default hip in the cr2 should be changed to the chest to allow the coat's tail more freedom to move opposite the parents hip in action poses. A better uv object and template needs to be developed and a good bump map made. Upon resolution of the problems in the object file, morphs will be made to open the coat. A truely magnificent model, it is supurb. I had to change the object file name from coatee9g.obj to coatee9ga.obj which I suspect was a last minute oversight when you zipped up the file. The detail is perfect. PhilC

I think the name problem is with my zip program. I run a mac so StuffIt is what I generaly use, but used ZipIt 1.3.5 for all the pc users. This app cut the names down a bit. I'll find a solution to that. Thanks for the info. Lakota

The zip file problem should now be fixed. The obj and cr2 are now just named coatee, so no name changes in zipping the files. Also a new cr2 file was made that fixes most of the joint problem and that twist madness. enjoy Lakota
