Subject: vue not importing all items in my poser scene

Hello all, I am using Poser 5 (SP3) and the latest Vue and patch. When I import my poser scens, things are normally ok. however tonight, I had a few objects fail. These objects are part of the Micheal 2 barbarian pack. It seemed that vue could not read the object file that goes along with the spear, two daggers and the tops of the boots. These items can be "dialed" in and out of poser, so I am assuming this is the issue? Vuew can't import the Dial an Item on or off, sort of items? Is this true? Is there a work around? I'm really bummed that I may have to render my current image in poser. :( Thanks, --Eryk

I am not familiar with the term "dial". So, my suggestion is based on what I understand. Best options are, import your files as much separate as possible. Then assemble them inside Vue. Secondly, if Vue is giving you errors on spear & such (on PZ3 I presume) try importing them seperately as OBJ or 3DS etc. format. Would be great if you can post a picture of what error you are seeing. Again, I don't know what "dial" is, but Vue will import any object if the format is supported and not corrupted. Hope it helps.

I never thought of importing the object seperate. I'll give that a try for sure. By "dial" I mean..with this outfit for the barbarian, you can select if an item is on or off. Some items will have a dial in poser (like your normal parameter dials) that will let you change one item for another. Such as a dagger. you could switch the dial and have no dagger. Or have 1 style or dagger or another or another. The particular items I am having trouble with don't actually have dials, but seem to work on the same concept. Instead of adding (in my case) the daggers from the Figure list in poser, I select "dagger on" from the Pose list. Did I just make this more confusing? I hope not. :) Thank you much for your help and great idea! --Eryk

No, not confusing. Thanks for explaining what dial is. Vue just couple of months ago started to develope inport Poser in PZ3 format. But we still can't import Poser dynamic hair and clothes. And dial I think is a Poser only command. So, I'm quiet sure it won't work in Vue either. I think you would be better off importing the daggers saperately in Vue and compare which one suits the scene. Vue is indeed a great program, easy to use; unfortunately it does have limitations! regards!

Ahhh...ok. I was afraid it may not be able to handle them. At least now that I know this, i can plan for it when making my scenes. Imoprting the item seperate is not a problem. Thank you for your responds. I love vue...(Thinking of checking out the new professional package. It looks GREAT!)
