Subject: What is correct way to post an image?

daverj ( ) posted Sat, 17 January 2004 at 5:31 PM · edited Fri, 22 November 2024 at 8:49 PM

In a couple of posts I have put in HTML IMG tags to display an image which is on my site, but I notice that the "Image" notice doesn't show up in the forum index next to that post. What is the right way to link to an image in a post? Am I supposed to use the "Attach File" field?

If you use image tags you can always just type the word "image" into the subject line.

I know that. That's not what I'm asking. If I enter a URL in the URL field, it puts "link" after the subject line. If I click the Nudity button it adds "nudity" after the subject line. What is the correct method of adding an image that causes the word "image" to be added after the subject line?

"Attach File" will upload the image from your computer to the Renderosity server and the "Image" tag will show in the header.

Cool. Thanks. Are there size restrictions for the file?

I think so, but I'm not sure what or where it's posted.

I understood what you were asking. I was just wondering if the only reason why you were asking is because you wanted it to say "image" in the title why you couldn't just type it in there.

Hi daverj make sure your image for the forums is less than 512 KB in size. Also, try to keep your images small - remember that a lot of the members are on dial-up internet connections, so large image files can make a thread nearly impossible for them to view - and a lot of members are on laptop computers - so try to keep the width resonable as well - 500 to 600 mb or less. Hope that helps :) Dee-Marie
