1812 Shako (da hat) progress For those following the progress for the invasion of Canada, the Shako is in the works. It still needs a rain flap and a plume. Also the plate and cord needs work, but it's getting there. From my limited understanding of this time period, this is an 1812-pattern 'Belgic' shako with the false front. I think I can make some morphs to make it more of the stove pipe design and that other top heavy 1810 pattern. It should be noted that some companies wore top hats including the Royal Marines. You have do have to be dressed well for an invasion. Lakota

This is marvelous! You would probably enjoy Osprey's men-at-arms and warrior series, they're chock-full of pix and info for modelers and miniature enthusiasts (people who like miniatures, that is, not miniature people...) http://www.ospreypublishing.com/seriestitles/Men-at-Arms MaryCanary

yes, Osprey has a good referance collection. I have a dozen or so on this time period. British Redcoat (2) and The American War are the primary booklets for this work. Lakota
