When NASA knocked on Martian doors; They found some things that looked like spores, And little shapes that looked like coils, Also were found in Martian soils. NASA jumped quickly to dismiss; Those who claimed they thought what is... And words explained it all away "There are no fossils there", they say. "No microbes are found upon the planet We know for sure...take that for granted". On that place that they call Mars; The foramiculae sure look a lot like ours.

Wouldn't that be a shock to our system...to find out we aren't so terribly unique afterall. Despite all the s.f. on the subject, I don't if we are prepared for that kind of reality. Love this poem, tjames. :)

I was engaged in a pretty hefty debate over at space.com in their forum and it just came to mind. Something about looking at fossilized threadlike object 35 million miles away under a microscope that bring out the what it is arguments.
