I remember there being some morphable blood puddles floating araound in the free stuff (I think). I've been looking for them for a while now, does anybody know where they went?

Ask me a question, and I'll give you an answer.

ernyoka1 has a morphing puddle prop. Probably not the one you're thinking of, however.

Mine haven't been up for over a year, if those were the ones you were thinking of. If I get the chance, I'll rework them and repost them :)

check out weirdjuice3d's Drops. free metaballs that can be animated too. you could easly make blood pools. they have a product at Daz that is the full featured version with more options but Drops is available free at wierdjuice's site.

I think I remember the set your refering to. It was posted as 'Blood Pack' with several shapes, I have it but there is no Readme and I no longer see it in FreeStuff either. Too bad as it was a very nice pack and I've used it quite a bit. One thing I did that was simple for additional shapes I needed was just use Anim8or, make a flat square with several sections and start pulling and bending till you get what you want. You'll have to make your own textures however. That's what I did when I wanted the blood to spill on the alter in "Dragon Huntress" Nudity http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=139051 I also used that pack in "Garden Secrets" http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=237001 note: change the texture to floresent green and you have alian pee (gag I did for RDNA's Grey Alian)

Alien blood? That is an awfully bright red. ;^) Blood is actually fairly rusty-looking (it has iron in it) and gets crusted and darker rusted after being exposed to air for a while. Hmm... to be that bright of a red, it would need to have gold bound to the molecules, and the cost of a transfusion would fluctuate with the world market. Carolly

Carolly!!! :)

Hey! I'm not kidding (much)... you realize that the colors in stained glass and artist's pigments are mostly due to metals? Cobalt blue really has cobalt in it. Chrome green has chromium. The intense red you see in glass is due to gold added while the stuff is still molten. If you have ever done stained glass, you probably wondered why red sheets cost so much more than yellow or green per sq ft, now you know. Iron isn't very tightly bound, which is why it can be replaced by other metals in our bloodstream. One of the doctors in the Forum (Scarab?) probably knows off the top of his head which diseases/conditions are due to having the wrong metal. Scifi writers use molybdenum (I think) to explain Spock's green blood. Carolly

I knew you were serious about the metals Carolly......just laughing about the "world market" :) I don't do stained glass, but have a friend who does. I do enjoy your posts....usually learn something and get a laugh as well :)

Now it's my turn to laugh! That is truly amazing (and amusing). With a slight sparkly texture, you can even get the sentient green sands (story by Tanith Lee) waiting for our heroes to investigate mose closely. (IIRC, a Blake's 7 episode also featured sentient sand or something slurping towards the guys when their backs were turned... and on an alien world, your back is always turned in some direction.) I really needed this for a dungeon scene a few years back, and I've certainly animated caustic green slime in a game or 2. Hmm... two of those look almost like the tracks left by clawed feet. Glowing slimy tracks.... You probably popped it up as a joke, but this could be really, really useful. I've added it to my cart. :) And, no, I'm not an expert. At one time I was a scholar (Viking Age), but now my brain is more like flypaper where some stuff sticks (and it may not be the most useful of stuff) while other bits get away. Totally undisciplined. sigh. If the bits are entertaining or interesting or provoke someone into investigating further, so much the better. Carolly

Carolly you remind me a lot of a friend of mine. She's a professor at a local University and a member of Mensa International. I suspect you are in that league :)
