i am planning on a career in computer animation... but i don't know very much at all about what kind of education is standard... the only school in my area that teaches animation, charges 51,000 dollars... thats alot of money... is an associates degree acceptable??? Also i was wondering what kind of money animators earn...

For 51,000 bucks they better have a 100% placement rate in the field. This is not necessarily the best way to start, but you could look here and see what is out there, then makes some calls. www.alias.com/assistant_online/entertain/maya/articles/campus/students/index.html

heyas; there are some listings of school that specialize in computer graphics and animation in the back of each next generation magazine. if you like video games, check it out. :) (i THINK their url is www.next-generation.com, but they keep changing it on me... try asking jeeves at www.aj.com where it is.)
