Subject: SR4 makes my renders take 2-3 times as long!!!

I "upgraded" to SR4 today and now everything is extremely sluggish. Is there any way to fix it or unpatch it? Thanks, -mofolicious

Check the readme. There were a couple of settings that were changed in Firefly that could slow it down. All you have to do is bump those settings back up, and you should recover most of the render speed.

i always set the render settings the way i want them anyway. It seems like calculating dynamics takes longer as well.

That is strange, some people have been saying the opposite that rendering is faster and calculating dynamics is faster too, maybe the problem is a video card that P5 isn`t "compatible" with or something similar.

Hmmm... I can't find the thread, but there was a .tmp folder created in the installation of SR4 that held duplicate info from the walk designer, and was associated with slow starts. Check your Poser directory tree, and if you find such a folder, move it out of the Poser folder and then try and start things.
