Subject: Alpha channel / transparency on PS 6

I open my TGA file (With alpha channel) on PS 6 and I can't have any transparency on it! What I need to do to have transparency on images with alpha channel on PS 6?

  • Go to 'channels' (I presume that is the name of the tab in English) - option-click (or a similar combination) to make a selection of your alpha channel - Make a new layer with that selection - Eh, well, then you should have your transparacy. What is called 'transparancy' in a lot of circumstances is actually some kind of 'hidden' alpha channel, that has information on how much opacity each pixel has. If the above thing does not work, maybe the file is not in RGB or CMYK but Indexed Color or similar, otherwise it should be possible to recreate the transparancy. Good luck!
