"It sure has been a roller coaster ride for Poser users and the on-line Poser community this past year! This recent issue concerning Renderosity is big, but fortunately not as potentially hazardous to Poser users as Metacreations decision to divest itself of Poser and other applications. We made it through that problem together in good condition and hope that we can make it through this new issue as well. Fortunately for all of us Poser was picked up by Larry Weinberg (Creator of Poser), Steve Cooper (former Poser product manager at Metacreations) and financially backed by Egisys. Poser couldnt be in any better hands or with people who love the product more. Likewise, this new development with Renderosity hopefully brings new opportunities for the Poser community to end up in a situation where it can develop to its full potential, however and wherever that may be. Just to be up front in explaining Zygotes interest in all this, we want to aid in the growth of the Poser community. We obviously benefit as this community grows, as does everyone else that is involved with the community. In considering more direct involvement with Renderosity, we had intended to move our product line closer to the community as well as increase opportunities for other developers to do the same. This effort to purchase Renderosity would have been a difficult financial investment for Zygote, and at best would have taken a significant period of time to repay the loan. As we neared completion of the deal, it turned out that the costs were possibly even going to be higher than we originally expected due to the uncertainties of the agreement between D.S.I. and Edgenet. Before the potential deal with Renderosity fell through, we were in the process of developing some new opportunities that would increase options for members of that website. Now Zygote is pursuing other avenues to accomplish these same goals. As you can imagine, however, this is a very precarious situation, and Zygotes actions must be calculated to ensure that our efforts help to bring the community together and not divide it any further or discourage its growth. The initial deal to buy Renderosity has ended and we currently have no plans to pursue purchasing it. We are faced with several options at this point. Rest assured that we will pursue the option that we feel will help to unify the community as a whole and create the most possibilities for all those involved. Just as Larry Weinberg and Steve Cooper have a vested interest in Poser, Zygote also has a direct financial vested interest in the success and the momentum of the community, and will therefore do whatever it can to ensure its success. We appreciate your concern and support, and look forward to continued interaction with all of you in this great community. Sincerely, The Zygote team" -Rob
