For anyone interested in learning the basics of illuminating an image, I have just completed a tutorial entitled, Lighting: The Absolute Basics.

The tutorial attempts to provide the basic building blocks needed to master the art of effective lighting.

It is kindly hosted by Textures by Tuesday and can be found at the above URL.

An excellent, and superbly written tutorial, shadowblade. There aren't many lighting tutorials out there that deal with the intrigate issues of proper lighting. Although this tutorial is for beginners, you point out most of the common mistakes even intermediate users have. Eventhough I am not a beginner in the lighting department, I still find this tutorial very useful and I would highly recommend it to any poser users out there, beginner or advance. Thank you for taking the time to write this tutorial. JV :o)

A well written tutorial Paul. A must have for newbies and not so newbie. It's obvious a lot of work went into this - thank you for making it available! You should post it to DAZ Arcana, you will get a voucher for using it!

Thank you, everyone. I do appreciate the feedback. Mary, I had thought about DAZ, but they have a set format (a very limiting one, at that) to which I simply could not adhere.
