Subject: Anybody figure out why the MilCube is so big?

The file is 845 kb in size and the stuff I could find (PP2, Obj, etc) only amounted to a few dozen Kb. I've got DAZ freebies that are only a little over 400K, using the same installation and current Victoria graphic), so it's not all due to the installer. During the installation process, it looked as if something would be installed in the Start Menu, under "DAZ Program", but nothing appears to have been installed. Has anybody figured out why the file is so big? I'm rather surprised that there was anything to download at all. I expected, clicking on add to cart, that it just didn't go to a screen, saying "April Fool". 845K is a lot of bandwidth to waste for a joke.

I didn't realize there was an actual download for it. I thought it was just a joke going around. Where is it, and has anyone actually downloaded it and opened it to see what it really is? Melanie

I guess Daz can waste the bandwith for a joke? Last year it was in the Freebies section, so I'm sure many more people downloaded it then than this year.

Melanie, yep it's an actual download. The MilCube has six individually mapped sides and LOTS of poly's. It also holds a sword pretty well.

With the polygon density, one can apply magnets to distort its surfaces. Take a look at post # 21 via the attached link. By simply lifting and rotating a magnet, I formed something that reminded me of an ear of corn. Sincerely, Bill

IIRC, the penalty for prolonging an April Fool's joke this long, is to be burnt at the stake ;-)

Who's prolonging what? As silly as it was, they really did give away the cube on 4/1, same as last year. Daz then removed the MilCube after 4/1.
