Subject: Best of 2003 DVD query

SeanE ( ) posted Mon, 12 April 2004 at 4:33 AM · edited Mon, 29 July 2024 at 8:46 AM

Is the 'best of 03' DVD purely a DVD or can it be viewed using a CD ROM drive as well??? ...coz I ain't got a DVD player... :+(

I know the answer to that one :) It will only play on a DVD player - not from a regular CD-ROM drive. If you do not have a DVD player on your computer - perhaps a friend has one on a large screen TV set - which I think is the best way to view the DVD :) Dee-Marie

I agree with Dee-Marie. The DVD is absolutely stunning on large screens...and played at loud volumes!! I like it loud, LillianH (Please adjust your sound according to your personal preferences ;-)

Sean, I have seen brand new DVD players in stores for about 35 dollars. They work good and they also play music CDs, as well as CDs with regular JPEG images. Treat yourself to one, it's worth it.

well IMO this would have been something to consider when making the Best of... - that not everyone has a DVD player or the latest you-beaut computer. I'm in Australia and a DVD player for the PC will cost me about $100 but it's not worth doing do coz my PC is a crappy old 200Mhz that still chugs along with a 33 modem and 8Gb HDD...! The school-work laptop - I'm not allowed to touch naturally. However I guess once term break is over I can swipe the DVD/VCR player we have at school-work and bring it home for the weekend and play it via the TV... still - an option of a CD version is something to consider for next perhaps? It seems Renderosity doesn't want to maximise their sales sometimes... shakes head

A cd versoin would never work because you can only fit 650 megs on it and wee needed much more than that :)

You can't call it work if you love it... Zen Tambour
