HI! - I've been lurking around the gallery here for months - admiring all of the wonderfull artwork - meanwhile learning and trying to get good enough to post my own piece - and now that I'm ready I realize - I dont know how! - I mean what's the best way to prep the picture for posting - as far as compression and color etc.?
Thank you to anyone who responds.

This is what it says when you visit the Gallery upload page. Follow this and you'll be fine. Art Gallery Art images should be GIF or JPG format only. The full image should be between 100 x 100 and 4000 x 4000 pixels and be less than 512 KB in size. The thumbnail image (if supplied) should be between 50 x 50 and 200 x 200 pixels and be less than 15 kb in size.

If you have PhotoShop, it has a "save for web" option. You can instantly see what your final size is, and can adjust the quality or the size to get your image within the size limits. Some images take compression better than others, so if you have to reduce the quality too much, you may be better off reducing the size first. Also, 4000 pixels is wider than most monitors. If you want people to see the entire image without scrolling, then perhaps stay to within 800 by 800 pixels to fit the widest possible audience. Carolly
