Someone in a group I belong to is wanting to know who the artists of this is. I feel that all artwork has a copyright to the artists work. No matter if it's published or unpublished. I wanted to find out who the aritst is so I can tell this person, they need to contact such and such before using this graphic for tubeing etc.. anyone know of it, or the copyright symbol? anyon here at Renderosity? It looks as though it took a lot of post work to me! It's very pretty indeed! but as always I think that giving credit where credit is due is always the best policy! thanks! ---Essie

Yes, all work is copyrighted the moment it's in fixed form (i.e, any form that other people can experience, see, hear, read, etc.). Publication is neither here nor there (although a date of publication can help establish copyright). If this image was on the net, then it _IS_ published. Putting something on the net is considered to be publishing (courts have upheld this belief). Yes, there is a lot of digital painting in that! Nothing pops out of Poser looking that good! ;-) You might try asking at Faeriewylde. That's where a good many of the fairy artists hang out. I gret to say that I don't recognize the signature. By the way, the very fact that the artist put a signature on the work should indicate that they claim it and want to be given credit for it. Most artists don't like having their work made into tubes without their permission. ;-) bonni

Is this even Poser? It looks so painted to me :o) Beautifull but I'm not sure it IS Poser at all.

I could be wrong, but I don't think this is a Poser image. I saved the picture,so I could zoom in and see it better. You can fix the knee, hip and shoulders, joints to look like this if you are VERY good at PS or Painter..... but the detail in the elbow and ankles looks too good (notice you can see the underlying bone). The feet and especially the hands look too natural to be Poser. If I am wrong, and this is a Poser figure used as a starting base,I still think it is very good work. If you find out who the artist is,could you post back....really like to see more of their work. SWAMP

well this person said it was a poser image and supplied a link to where they got the "tube" but I couldn't find the tube there, and I wanted to make sure that it wasn't one of those things.---Essie

Ah so it isn't REALLY Poser :o) "used Poser for reference" - in other words used Poser as it was really thought to be - a help in painting. And it's even more beautiful in the original size. Thanks for showing it, A_

I remember seeing other works from this artist (fantastic stuff!!!). I know some people use poser figures for reference, to get the pose just right, and then paint right over them. I have done it a few times, but havent gotten such good results - yet :o) hehe, maybe in a few years huh?

thank you very much! I wasn't sure what to think there! And I don't think there should be a psp tube floating around out there of this great piece of work without the artists permission! It's just not right, I know I wouldn't want to find some of my work tubed (even though it's not nearly as great as this) and not know about it! THanks so much! --_Essie

Am I the only one who's noticed that the Signatures on each image are TOTALLY Not the same Signature!

elizabyte ( ) posted Sat, 01 May 2004 at 2:17 AM

Am I the only one who's noticed that the Signatures on each image are TOTALLY Not the same Signature! Apparently. I didn't notice (didn't look; I was too dazzled by the artwork). The signature on the small one is either the signature of the person who "tubed" the original (I'm going to bite my tongue from going on a long rant about illegal tubers and I am NOT talking about people who do their own original PSP tubes, I mean the snaggers and thieves, grrrrrrrrr), or it's the signature of the person who plonked the tube onto the black background, and this makes them think they're an artist (or something). You know, it's bad enough to have one's work ripped off and mangled and mutilated by these people, but for someone else to actually sign their name to YOUR work, that's just salt in the wound... >:-( bonni

I did notice, but it seems to me like the signature of the same person, only in a different way. the artist did write that he/she were using it for a website, so maybe there are 2 versions of this. it looks like in both there are M and D. well, but i'm just guessing, maybe someone should ask the artist.
