Subject: Hi, I'm new around here and have a little problem...

Firstly, let me introduce myself...

My name is tdierikx and I'm a newbie at Vue D'esprit 4. Been fiddling about for around a month with this fine program and am enjoying it immensely...

Now for my little problem..

I've downloaded a few freebie Atmosphere packs and most of these have been inserted into Vue quite nicely and are working as they should. However... I'm having a problem with a couple others (Deadhead Pack 1 and a couple of zxcvb's packs).

What is happening is that I go through the normal insertion routine - point to the atmosphere etc and it all looks fine in the browser, the thumbnails come up and all - BUT when I actually select one of the new atmospheres and click on OK, all that happens is that the whole thing just hangs before loading into the scene windows...

Has anyone got any ideas why this may be happening for these particular packs? and possibly a solution so that I can use these beautiful atmospheres in my scenes?

Thanking you in advance...

T.

Hi, welcome to the club. Well, it is hard to tell what happens without really knowing more details. Have you thought about contacting Deadhead or zxcvb via IM? They are both very nice people and i am sure they will try to help you. I can't really think of any reason why it should work with some and not with others. Have you updated your copy of Vue to the latest version? I personally have used these atmospheres only in Vue Pro, so maybe - maybe - it can be an issue between Pro and d'Esprit. But that is pure guessing, not knowing at all.

Thank you for the warm welcome... Another friend of mine tried to load these same atmosphere packs into her Vue D'esprit 4 and had the same problem... maybe they were designed primarily for Vue Pro? Thing is that I know that at least some of these packs worked fine before I decided to "organise" my files... I'd even used them in a couple of renders... I'll try IM zxcvb - I hope he/she doesn't mind... T.

Hi tdierikx. I know about this problem from some users. I must ask you too about your version of Vue, because the same troubles I had with some atmospheres by Audity. As far as I know, it happens when you try load atmospheres into older version of Vue, than they were created. I created my atmospheres in Vue dEsprit 4.1, so it s possible that in Vue 4.06 or older they can make problems. Try to install latest update. Or you can download my small tutorial how I made it and create your own and even better ;) (link included)

Thank you so much for that deadhead! This will probably be really great for me - as I always wondered how people made all of these cool atmospheres. I've grabbed the tutorial and will have a go at it - see what I come up with - who knows, I may actually end up with something worthy of sharing as well... Thanks again! ...and, yes, I'm running an older version of Vue - must look into updating it... we're up to v4.22 now aren't we? T.
