Wondering what Computer Arts next, issue 97, Poser freebies would be? Abso-bloomin-lutely nothing - they either changed their minds or they forgot they'd already put the stuff out last issue when they were writing the trailer for this :(.

Heck, the issue with Dina in it just showed up here a week ago..I'll have to check the site to see what they did put in..keep an eye peeled for Digit, 3d World who tend to put the same things in at different times..;)

Oh poo - I was really looking forward to this. Still, least I don't have to waste hours getting a bus to the only town around here that has a Smiths that actually stock it. Thanks for letting us know, RHaseltine.

Well, the ad for the current 3DWorld shows a flash for "$200 worth of Poser models" on the CD, but I can't find any details - maybe the same selection as CA ran.

I don't know what they've said about Issue 97, but by my understanding the newest issue is 96, which includes a hefty dose of Poser content from our friends at AniMotions, mostly related to Dina V. Here's what's on the disc of the issue I picked up today: dacort: Dina V Basics (clothing) davo: Enforcer2001; Techbot 2001; Facehugger; Total Lab, including Lab Lamp, Lab Tank, Lab Tools, Theater Set dendras: Modern Interiors Construction Set; MICS basement; MICS Blue Pattern MAT files and textures DTG Studios: Dina V (character) Dutch Angel: 24 Dina V poses Fyrdrak: 20 Dina V poses Jack D. Kammerer: 20 "Penny" poses Karanta: Karanta and Aaronheart's Room SturkWurk: Dynamic Texture Pack (For Victoria 1 catsuit and Victoria 3 mesh) Pretty generous bunch of goodies. Many thanks to all those who donated to this promotion.

Issue 96 is last months issue if you are in the uk. The poser stuff on it is definitely worth getting the magazine for.

Yes, Xoconostle - if you check the next issue bit on page 11 it says "On the CD ... More exciting Poser resources". Of which, as far as I can see, there aren't any. (It's not our fault you colonials live in the back-of-beyond :))

Thank you for the explanation. Unfortunately we Yanks are indeed on time-delay. :-) Ah well, perhaps I helped sell a few copies in the USA. Believe it or not Issue 96 only hit the newsstands in my (major metropolitan) city yesterday.

You get to read Scientific American a month before me, though - I always have to wait when their latest use of Posette is pointed out (bah!).

If you like any of the items, the best way to say thanks is by donating large cash sums to the creators. no? How about just buying some of their other stuff? ;)

I came, I rendered, I'm still broke.

Yes Doug, of course you're right. Message well taken. I just wanted to thank people like yourself who participated in this promotion because it is very generous. Dean

And the "Thank you" is greatly appreciated. I just hope they loaded up the right version of my files... and that they work.

I came, I rendered, I'm still broke.

Anyone got any insight on how these US bookstores do their rotation? I just checked, and there are still 2 copies of CA #95.... Sounds like a great bunch of stuff. eric

Here, at San Francisco, I saw issue #96 at last night at Border's and this afternoon at Stacey's.

Yes, it's good stuff. I don't know if the new 3D World has the same, but it does use a MICS promo image, and seem suspiciously similar, so if you missed the stuff in Computer Arts... One glitch in the Computer Arts set: Some of the zipfiles contain files which have the same names as the subdirectories. So the zipfile shows a subdirectory and a file both called "Runtime". This rather confused the Windows software I was using: I couldn't just extract the whole lot in one swell foop. I can't say I'm entirely happy about the horror/torture element to some items, but that's partly a reaction to current news. Some fantasies have become a little too close to ugly realities.

mamba-negra ( ) posted Sat, 15 May 2004 at 7:00 PM

Yup, MICs is what I'm after. I'll have to check 3D world out. They did have one of those, but I didn't pick it up (was too busy looking through the electronic musician magazine....my system might actually do recording....with a little more equipment...heh heh) I suspect the CA will be released eventually. I'm in an engineering town, so this stuff probably moves really slow. eric
