OK here's how this is turning out (The original image is much bigger). I made the ship in Wings3D and textured it using UV-mapper & photohop. It turned out to be a russian old tug-ship instead of that all shiny white cruiser :) I will now continue with the deails on the ship and I will also replace the planets. I'm beginning to stare myself blind on this so I really need comments. Thanks!

I like this! Your starfield is amazing. Great texturing on the ship. Only suggestion I can make is to tone down the blue of the background. Can't wait to see this finished! :)

your texturing is orgasmic as usual. i'm not sure if the blue of the space works well with the yellow of the planet though. Not that it would matter, but it's just a bit weird. otherwise "o.O" effort :) drac

Tone down the blue definitely. The texturing on the ship looks pretty good. You could try desaturating the colour of the planet a little too, just to see what it looks like - may look better, may not. But still, its definitely getting there.

tone down that blue, increase the red on the planet.. I like the stars..but something bothers me. How far are the distant stars to the planet?? It looks like eons away..like the blue is from another Universe..not the one that the planet belongs to. And somewhere my mind is warped in relation to sizes.. how big is the ship in relation to the planet? The texture of the planet is so clear... maybe me confused about sizes and distances.. just been looking down a miner's ant hill...

Not wishing to gang up on you, but the blue COULD stand to be a bit less saturated. I envy your talent for making believable space craft with great textures. I keep trying, but I don't believe I've ever posted anything but a few space stations (just use a lot of torii, lol). Impressive outer space work.

This is not my "second childhood". I'm not finished with the first one yet.

Ya know, I'm thinking that nails paperback cover art just the way it is right now. So it depends which way you want to take it. (You could even put titling in, or wrap it around a book if you wanted to go in a completely different direction.)

I think it's great, the color scheme is totally up to you. I love the atmosphere on the planet, thin but definitely vert well done..!

LOL at Vile. 8) I think it is coming along very nicely. I personally think the blue nebula is good. If you tone it down.... just a little would do it I think. Nice work Bazze.

Thanks a lot for all your input. I've submitted the finished(I think, and bigger) version into the gallery. Please have a look!
