Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 06 7:01 am)
That's why I figured I'd mention Siege--although one should never say never, it's unlikely that anybody will try to top Siege for sheer quantity of Poser figures. I'm trying to find out what the limit is with P4 figures from a resource standpoint. Were your seven figurs clothed? I know that putting a clothed V3 and MilGirl in one image chokes my 800MHz laptop.

Flak's pic - wonderful as it is - wouldn't qualify anyhow, since it was done in Bryce.

6 V3's with dynamic clothes all in one shot. It took about 10 minutes to render at 1000x1000. P4/2.0 512 RDRAM NerdAttached Link: http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=632370&Start=1&Artist=Replicant&ByArtist=Yes
Eleven figures but I had to render the V3 separately in this one. The number of characters you can render depends on the number of texture maps used as well as the complexity of the figures. I managed to squeeze in 9 Mike2s and a Freak because they all used the same body textures. Another in my gallery, 'Numbers' has 3 Vicky3 and 3 Vicky2. I find that if the pz3 gets above about 450Mb my machine chokes.P4 2.4Ghz with 2Gb RAM. Poser4Pro.

I have had up to around 50 characters in a scene, but many of the characters were items of scuba gear or Sea Patrol riotsquad gear or guns or vehicles. E.g. the latest version of my scuba diver model is at least 7 characters: man, regulator & hoses, stab-jacket, fin, fin, weight belt, wetsuit hood (conforming garment), and his cylinder is a prop.
I've gotten 11 of V3 with all the props and hair in 1 pic, but it does seem to depend on the type of figure since I can get 20 or more of Voluptuous Vicky with no prob and only 2 of Micheal 3. I think it might have something to do with the amount injections also since M3 needs more than V3 and V2 doesn't need a lot.

Poser is jsut not good for crowd scenes its too bad it does not have "instancing" like C4D where you can duplicate figures visually without duplication the actual geometry here is the poser stickman animated inthe propack and instanced over 60 times in cinema4DXL BTW didnt the mighty Okham have a py script that acheived this??Attached Link: http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=262749
Just 12- mixed my little 633 pentium cryed mercy on it- lolWow! How did you bring that many figures in because I can't imagine that you added 256 figures? I'll assume the lingerie is a texture instead of a separate figure. I wonder how many P4 clothed females can be used?

One way would be: Make one girl and texture her and save her to library. Load her to stage 15 times to make rank of 16. Parent the new 15 to the original girl to make one tree of parenthood. Save it to library. Load the result to stage 15 times. Then select one girl and move her to produce the effect in the image.

What's the largest number of P4 figures that have been used in a single render without choking the computer? I'm just curious how many one can get away with before it eats up all the system resources. Flak combined a series of renders for Siege, so his cast of thousands doesn't quite apply for the question.
