I've never bought mats or textures before, but on Sunday I bought some groundcover, rock and grass mats. I have to say that I'm absolutely thrilled with them :o) :o) Just thought I'd share that lol

hokay..never one to take money from someone's business..but there's almost a thousand free ones (varying quality, from what you paid for to dang good..;) out there. But a good grass mat might be worth it..lookin' forward to the renders.

pakled - I'd have thought that as well, but I have to say these are the best groundcover mats I've seen. Same with the rock textures. I haven't seen as good in the freebies - that's not to say that they're not there, just that I haven't found them..... Here's a quick simple render using a grass mat, a rock mat, and a sky. I've found it difficult up to now to make a convincing grass mat, ditto rock.

I love Jonathan Allen's .mats - they are the only mats I have ever bought. I think he has this really great feel for color combos. I do belive his stuff is a cut above most free ones, but that's just my opinion :-) Best; Dan

grass is the hardest mat to reproduce in bryce just by terrain mapping, indeed. rocks-wise, they can be faked with a little bit of work. nonetheless, great mats :)

They are great mats. Now we just need some good carpets... runs and hides from angry mob

There's loads of carpet mats out there..somewhere..;) I think some of Wolfie's stuff will work in a pinch, or a throw..;) Pixel Wonder has some carpetlike stuff. Just go over to the 3d links forum and get the file I have there, there's about 30 mat sites..something for everyone..;)

Those are some good looking textures pog! @Mentat- You can make some cool carpet or organic looking textures using Gloodle, and it's a free app. See if you like these.

Gloodle looks like fun!! I''m a sucker for free apps, I'll be installing it later today :o)
