Hi Today I recieved a parcel from a modelshop not too far from where i live. The parts I had ordered were 'add ons' for a model train. They came with no instructions and being new to the hobby I didn't know how to fit them, so I telephoned the shop, saying to the man that perhaps it is my ignorance or inexperience but I may have purchased the wrong bits, I explained my problem, his reply was "let me just tell you I have sold.....many of these and no one else has had a problem!" I eventually found from this man that I had to remove a part (which I did not know could be removed without damaging the model) for the new bit to fit.To be blunt the Mans attitude was very abrupt. Now to the point in all my dealings with people on this and other sites belonging to this community I have always been treated with respect even if my question seemed foolish or lame this includes the late lamented OT forum where I have had some frank and entertaining discussions which were on the whole polite and friendly. This is just to say thanks to everyone here in the virtual world (a much nicer place than the 'real' world! Dave

Shhh!!! You'll ruin our reputation. We're supposed to be bad tempered, fractious, elitist, temperamental, misanthropic and generally stroppy. Actually, you're right about the helpful attitude here. Any valid (and a good many invalid) questions will get a worthwhile answer eventually.

There's no such thing as a dumb question, when I first started modelling, I had no idea what extrude meant let alone how to do it and now it's second nature. For every question placed in this forum, the people who answer have asked the same question at one point or another. It's all about the learning.
