anyone seen one...I need to hang some pulleys from the ceiling (not what it sounds like...LOL...the ceiling of a Victorian wood working shop so they can hoist up the coaches to repair the wheels...boring stuff like that...LOL) for a client image....like this one, including the rope... Tia

Maz made a simple pulley, just an obj file, no textures. VK over at 3dcommune made a "pulleypack" with all the gear. I think the pulleyminitut goes with it.

Thanks....found the one by Maz. I don't know how I could get a rope in it though......did a search at 3D Commune for pulley, to no avail. I found a member named VK put it doesn't give their downloads in member info like it does here so that didn't help.

BTW, have you ever actually seen a pic with a block and tackle being used like that? I doubt very much if a coach roof was strong enough to hang the entire charrage from, they were pulled by horses, after all, and they couldn't be built like a battleship. ;-) I suspect they would have used a screw jack under the axle, just like you would do on a auto.

Maybe you could message him and find out where he hosts his stuff now? I couldn't find it there anymore, either. Pulleys would be handy in any sort of shop... but I think Jim is right about not lifting a carriage from the top. That isn't where it is strongest. I just looked over at Baument. He has an "industrial belt" in the archives... which might be suitable. I thought it was worth a search because he does so much of this mechanical stuff. You might be able to use the bolts and hinges and handles and such lying around as scene filler, too. His Meshes7 CD also has a block and tackle under factory floor. Carolly

Dizzie, here ya go :-)... one set of poseable pulleys (300K zipped, cr2 format, template & texture shown included) If you can use them email me at coolerBear@att.net & I'll ship a copy back by return mail

Oh Cooler, it's perfect...very vintage! I agree with you Jim...but the client wants the pulleys to hang wheels and mostly to hang a ghost from...LOL

Sorry, it is just my engineering background, I always get into "would that actually work" ;-)

I agree, Jim... hanging a ghost from a pulley doesn't make engineering sense: all that ectoplasm will droop in a most unsightly fashion and over the decades fatigue will set in. We wouldn't want a distressed ghost!
