Subject: Video background import into Poser

This is a kind of round about question. I have some video I taped on my camcorder - Sony Hi8 - that I have USB streamed into my PC. It outputs as mpeg1. Poser speaks AVI - at least ProPack does - and I wonder who knows of what specific program works best - free? (I hope I hope) for converting this into AVI format with the least amount of trouble and shortest learning curve. Anyone? Thanks in advance. Larry F

Hey, ockham, you are always a veritable fount of useful info. I'll be grabbing that. I already ran across AVITOMEG which has a trial version and have already achieved the goal and I was trying to reach, but I'll try this one too before I buy. I have a lot of video stuff, some of which I will be using for templating of animation poses. (Looks like a lot more questions in the making, LOL!) THANKS AGAIN! Larry F

VirtualDub (freeware) can read MPEG-1 video and resave to AVI format.

Thank you much, Little_Dragon (can I call you "LD"?). That looks just fine. Will try out later - after some much needed ZZZZZs! Larry F
