Nothing very relaxing here ;) Long way to go... mainly just working out the lighting and basic layout so far. And jamming three topics into one thread to avoid forum flooding lol.

Digital Lighting and Rendering Been reading a fair bit of this book lately - its very handy, especially for people (like me) that had never heard of such things as three point lighting, color theory, shadow theory, camera information and a whole host of other things that art trained people would think of as standard background knowledge. Probably aimed at higher end program users, but excellent at describing things in a very non-program specific way. If you can grab a copy from your local public library, well worth the effort.

I have a sky - looks good, but is linked to the view - so if I move the camera, the sunlight effects change as the sun moves. If I want that same sky, with the same lighting and everything in the scene, but not linked to the view, how do I go about translating the "linked to view" sunlight direction, to a absolute azimuth/angle coordinates? I've already tried including the camera angles (thats the "view" I'm using), i.e. rotations in X and Y directiosn (z=0 degrees), into the azimuth and angle in the sky lab when I remove the "linked to view" effect, but that didn't work. (oops, make that four topics)

"Digital Lighting and Rendering" That's featured on a site page where I first got my hands on info on multi-pass rendering. Eventually started using it in Bryce. Has a handful of useful things there. Kelvin color chart, three point lighting tutorial, etc. AgentSmith

"Digital Lighting and Rendering" I've had a copy of it out from the local public library for about 4 months running now, less a couple of days in the middle when I had to return it and wait for it to be reshelved so I could take it out again. Luckily no-one else here knows about it muahaha !! :)
