Subject: Michael's Texture Template?

TinMan ( ) posted Wed, 18 October 2000 at 8:36 AM ยท edited Tue, 04 February 2025 at 4:35 PM

Hey all. I bought Michael just last night and I'm completely stoked. Obviously I don't want him to look like he's made out of play-doh, so I want to have a bash at making a texture for him. Problem is, the downloaded textures from Zygote's website don't even fit him! For starters, they're split into two files, head and body, and the UV map on Michael is one map, head and body. How do I use the templates and apply them to Michael? Am I going to have to sort all that mess out in UV mapper and make my own? I just don't get it!!!!

The easist way to apply the texture is to select Mikey and go to Render: Materials. Make sure the check box for "Texture changes apply to entire figure" is checked. At the Texture Map drop down box area, Load the Michael Head texture. Everything that has to do with his head now has the correct textures. Now go and uncheck the "Texture changes apply to entire figure" checkbox. In the Material drop down box, select a part of Michael that is not located on his head, such as his body. Go to the Texture map area and load the Body texture. Do this for each body part. (There's only 3 or 4 parts.) If you get Vicki, you'll have to do the same thing. If this isn't clear, let me know.

Hello, Zygote has the free templates for Michael at their site. Just look where you ordered him towards the bottom. Also, you can use UVmapper to set all the head or body materials invisible with the hot keys and then export a template texture of just what you want using the export options. Check it out.
