Hi all, i have just imported a 3DS object in to poser 5 and it has like 50 parts to be textured, is there some way to tex them all at once. Thanks very much for your time and help..

if they all have the exact same texture and you won't be changing it: in the material room, select one part of the. Set up the material. Right click on the Poser_Surface and choose "select All", then right click again and choose "apply to all". Then click ok in the little window that pops up. The same material will be applied across the entire object.

thou and I, my friend, can, in the most flunkey world, make, each of us, one non-flunkey, one hero, if we like: that will be two heroes to begin with. (Carlyle)

Problem with importing an item like a 3DS item is that in many cases the item was just abandoened by the creator...often they're just learning or practicing to improve their craft and instead of throwing it away they offer it up as a freebie. So if you download one thats a mess as you say because its in parts and untextured...I'd say that unless its a rare item to look for another version as sometimes these are created as challenges in online classrooms or even tutorials-have found more than one version this way. Otherwise doing what ynsaen suggests is your only option beyond a step by step retexturing of every part.Did you find a texture that would work?

Hi Armo, it's a 3D3 Sud, and it's complete, like i said before it's got like 50 parts to be textured, i will try what ynsaen said, i started to use materials for the material room, it was just to much...

I can imagine,I import 3ds from time to time and have encountered this problem. An easy answer for these people would be to donate the item to a site where there may be members who make textures and might like to practice on the item, then repackage it for distribution as a freebie.People who make these and offer them to the public rarely think of how hard they're making it on others who might actually want to try using it...but I think you've abandoned it now from your reply lol, still it was a good experience as you learned that if you get another one of these to find someone else to put it together for you or just delete it cause its gonna be too big a hassel. Glad to meet you
