Photography F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 13 3:04 pm)
Hehehe, it wasn't me!.... blame it on the Poser people and 3D'ers..... What I find amusing is when I see photographers using the Modeling genre... it was meant for 3D models, not the flesh and blood kind. HA.... oh well....
I am, therefore I create.......

I can still recall the arguments when the film Apollo XIII was nominated for a Hugo Award... I can also remember when "Glamour" and "Pin-Up" meant much the same, while a "Nude" was supposed to be less clothed and more "artistic". But it does sound as though somebody used a dictionary, rather than looking at photography magazines. That sounds like it comes from one of the older definitions of the word, and it's maybe a bit odd to medern ears,
Antonia - When people start using words like delusively, you can bet a dictionary was involved. :) I think the definition of glamour that aligns closely with the way I view the genre is a really simple one - at least I think so: Glamour - An image of alluring beauty or charm; often with sex-appeal. Delusively ... somebody hold them down while I hit them with a wet napkin. -=>Donald
WTF did that say? Who talks like that? what? what? I like this definition..... An abnormal mental state characterized by the occurrence of psychotic delusions. I always thought Glamour was a womans magazine.
"The happiness of a man in this life does not consist in the
absence but in the mastery of his passions."

Ok ... who do I have to blame for the genre definitions in the gallery? I don't know what half of that stuff means. Case in point: "Glamour - An air of compelling charm, romance, and excitement, especially when delusively alluring." WTF did that say? Who talks like that? what? what? Just had to get that off my chest. :) -=>Donald
