Hahaha...I've felt that way before. Usually the clouds in my life are people walking in front of what I want to photograph. Light is perfect, composition is perfect, settings are perfect on test shots ... go to take the real deal and it's like they're giving away free espresso where I want to photograph. -=>Donald
..........thanks Donald and bsteph !!!....I was beginning to think no one out there had these problems! lol!................... somehow the act of just starting to depress the shutter button sometimes triggers the universe to slightly alter one's perfect composition ........or so it seems sometimes!
Damn Doug! You just have the damnest luck don't you? LOL! But it is kind of like my beach image I posted tonight, Do you have any idea how long it took me to get that image? Three vacant chairs in a row, on one of the top ten beaches with no people on a hot summers day at about 10 am! Well I persevered in this case, was so afraid that someone would come and take one or two of the chairs in the meantime, but they didn't! If I had your luck the bus that unloaded while I was there would all have come over for a group shot! wink -wink Rather then heading north down the beach like they did!
The photo gods were with you Nilla :~) . And believe me those photo gods can be really mean sometimes....
I am, therefore I create.......

........yes --- mmmm ---- maybe I am a tad unlucky --- but hopefully this is balanced off at other times ( God - I hope so! )..but - today ---- I sat down directly across the street from a dazzling old 50's car shimmering and glistening in the sunlight--it was in a driveway pointed right at me .....I was transfixed..... stopped down the lens to get some little star effects on the highlights ---went to press the shutter -- and a car pulled in right in front of it ( rap music blaring) and illegally parked blocking the driveway........ahhh well --- I did come back later and got the shot!.......but I'm just pointing out the frustations most all photographers face --- esp nature photographers --- I wouldn't have the patience!!!

...You're out photographing on a sunny day -- conditions are great -- wind pushing away the smog - everything sharp colourful and clear --- you spot some fascinating subject -- it's VIBRANT -- perfect light ---- you fiddle with the controls -- think it thru -- get it in perfect focus -- your finger starts to depress the shutter button...and THEN --- at that EXACT instant --- the CLOUD FROM NOWHERE covers the sun!!! ---- you look up --where in the hell did that huge --- BIG -- cloud come from --- you wait -- you pace --- people walk by and stare at you --- you look like you're waiting for a bus -- but there's no bus stop -- all stray clouds seem to jocky for position to block the sun .......after 45 minutes you grumble and give it up .......after you're a distance down the road the sun pops out again .... it's sunny for the next week --- but you're leaving town that night.......back home you read articles from the local newspaper --- " Locals Declare They've Never seen So Many Cloudless Days!"...........huh??? ---- does this ever happen to you??.......ahhh - well perhaps I exagerate ---- just a bit!
