I want to post my recent creation as a freebie. What files do I need to include and where would I find them? By chance is there some utility available that does this for you? I have seen many content zips that start with a runtime file and just work their way down. Thanks

It depends on the content of your package. If it's a figure, you need the Texture folder (JPG's Trans, and Bump files), the Character folder (if a cr2 file), the Pose Folder (MAT's and INJ/REM), and if you have any props included you'll need those folders as well. I make a folder at the root of drive called !ZIPS, I then create a project folder, and the Runtime/Geometries/libraries/Pose/Character/Props, etc folders the same as my Poser runtime. I place copies of the final files in proper order, include license and readme files, sometimes detailed Help files, in the root project folder and zip the license, help, readme files and Runtime Folder all up. Send to someone else first and have them test it, don't trust yourself to test your own, and then amke your thumbnail files and upload following the instructions provided you have somewhere to host all the files.

It really doesn't matter where you create a "dummy runtime" for zips. I have it on my desktop, one folder called Runtime, in that the necessary folders (and I do delete the ones that aren't needed in the current package - for instance there is no "character" folder if I package up a prop) I place the things in that where they should go, then out on my desktop I rightclick the Rumtime folder and choose "Add to Runtime.zip" from the rightclick menu. It then makes a zip called Runtime with everything in place. Then I rename the new Runtime.zip to reflect whatever is in the zip. That's the fastest way. And yeah, what Dale said: Send it to someone to test, at least untill you're confortable with how you do it :o)

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA
Using Poser since 2002. Currently at Version 11.1 - Win 10.

The way I did it was to open the Character file in Wordpad and search for "OBJ" for the geometry file path and filename and "JPG" (or "PICT", "BMP", etc) to find the texture filenames and paths. Also, another good idea is to search your character file for ":" and if you find any sort out the path in the proper format. i.e. If you find F:PoserRuntimeLibraryCharacterMy character.cr2 then change it to :Runtime:Library:Character:MyCharacter.cr2 this will keep it compatible with all versions of poser and between PC and MAC. The other guys have already talked about creating dummy runtime folders so I won't go into that. Cheers NeilP

NeilP: how can we know that an item will work in MAC when we only have PC? Every time I upload a new texture, I have to check the box "PC only" or "PC/MAC" or "MAC only". I always check the "PC only" box because I don't know. Now that I think of it, I suppose textures will work in both but will the MAT files? France
