Now those are some high quality renders. Would love to know how to do those radiosity effects. Did you go to Venice yet? How was the tempeture there? How was the food?

Colette1 ( ) posted Wed, 07 July 2004 at 10:14 AM

Thanks! These are some really awesome pics! I would love to see Italy someday.

vasquez ( ) posted Wed, 07 July 2004 at 10:44 AM

wow great pics there I can recognize Verona, Firenze, Pisa! Next time make me a call and I'll be you ciceron, Rochr ...and don't forget to come to Bologna!!

Rochr ( ) posted Wed, 07 July 2004 at 11:00 AM

Unfortunatly we didnt went to Venice on this trip. We stayed in Tuscany and made shorter trips to several places.
We visited Nago at lake Garda, Verona, Chianciano, Florens, Siena, San Gimignano and Montepulciano. Think i covered all... :)
Temperatures were around 25-30 C, and the food was excellent, except for the breakfast... :)

Its a beautiful country and i can definitely recommend a trip there. Fortunatly i didnt spotted anyone playing with decaputated bodyparts, so i guess its a Vasquez thing. :D

Ive uploaded some high-rez images here: http://www.subspacegraphics.com/0001.jpg,
if anyones interested. It goes from 0001-0047 and some of them could probably be used as reference images.

Looks awesome! IF the temperature was 10 degrees cooler I'd want to move there :o) But 25-30C....no way!!!!!

Rochr ( ) posted Wed, 07 July 2004 at 12:39 PM

Oh, thats nothing. When we were in Tunisia we took a camel ride in the Saharan desert. The temperatures were around 50-55 C. Thats warm! :)

55 C is indeed warm, we have the aircraft paint booths at that. Spent almost two weeks in there doing some tests last year. I am willing to bet that the Tunisian camel ride scenerey was more interesting though!

Good thing you were able to hide your tentacles Rudy, otherwise you might have been chased by some Italians who were hungry for giant calimari, lol. It'll be interesting to see how your travels inform and inspire your Bryce renders.

Awesome pictures Rochr. Some of the architecture is just magnificent. Glad you had a fun trip. 8)

Rochr, Pict Number two would probably not be considered the best pict in the series here by most people but I kept looking at it as it made me think about architecture and human space and stuff like that in ways I don't often do anymore and so in that way it's my favorite. I'll check out the hi-rez series this evening . . . Thank you for sharing! - TJ

Great shots. I hope you took some close-ups, some good stone mats in there.

Flak ( ) posted Wed, 07 July 2004 at 8:20 PM

I'm with doug... I hope you took some closeups, or you're going to have to go back and get them ;)

Thats a great shot. Ive found japanese cities to be a great source of inspiration, especially buildings and signs. Would be great to see some more.
