THE PLACE FOR ALL THINGS BRYCE - GOT A PROBLEM? YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE

Subject: This light and that object

Another feature that I think would be nice to have, but might be tricky to implement (simply in terms of how you would handle it in the interface, for a start). Sometimes I find myself adding a new light to a scene to provide more illumination on one object - but then the light causes problems with some other object. Particularly a problem with mirrors where a light can throw up an unwanted glare on the glass. It would be nice to specify somehow that Radial Light 5 does not affect Cube 39. Has anyone else ever had the same feeling? Is there any software that actually includes this feature?

To answer your last question, yes, Cinema4D does this. Have actually used it too. It has an exclusion list in the object properties list for light objects.

Pass no temptation lightly by, for one never knows when it may pass again!

Hi Phantast,

You can already do that in Bryce!

Just select Cube 39 and change the material properties for it, and tada!

I can't tell you which properties to change because that would all depend upon your lighting setup. To start with though, try reducing the diffusion level of the material on your Cube 39.

Len.
