Bonjour I got Sara from Daz .But i recently download some free stuff with reference to Sara2 only.I try to see at 3dunivers 3d but no srara2 .where is she?Thanks

shes at the same place you got Sara, just redownload her. It'll over write sara with sara 2.

Sara1 was the original sara download from Daz. DarkWhisper changed the face of Sara1 and Daz did not tell anybody and used the same link for Sara2. Sara 2 is the unofficial name of the new sara. If you had downloaded before the switch, and downloaded the new one then you would have 2 saras sara 1 and sara 2 but with different faces. unfortunately if you did not know, Sara2 files are the same name as Sara1 and would overwrite old sara. if you find clothing for "Sara" you are fin with either version of the Sara model, if it's morphs for the face, or textures including head textures then you have to investigate wether they will work with new Sara2. hope that explains a bit.

It is not possible to get the original Sara1. I don't think even with OBJencode you could do it as you would need the original Sara1 to be compliant to Daz's restrictions of use. looking for the Sara2 files wouldn't be enough to comply. Basically Daz and DarkWhisper don't want Sara1 used, they want people to use Sara2. I find Sara2's head uglier than sin and stopped using Sara. I have sara1 but since the whole debockle I've pretty much given up on the figure.

Martial, Si tu as Sara (originale qui ait disponible chez DAZ de novembre janvier derniers), tu peux quand me utiliser les items qui sont destin Sara2. Si tu as thargSara chez DAZ apr janvier 2004, il y a de bonnes chances pour que tu aies Sara2, donc les items que tu tharges lui iront comme un gant. ;o) C'est que DAZ a offert Sara pour la premie fois en novembre 2003 puis, en janvier, le crteur de Sara a changcomplement la te de Sara. DAZ n'a pas remplacl'image de prisualisation, il n'a changque le nouvel objet et cr2 de Sara, donc si quelqu'un l'a tharg apr janvier, ce n'est pas la Sara originale. La plupart des items pour Sara vont aussi bien Sara1 qu'Sara2, part les modifications au mode-me qui se doivent d're tr spifiques. France

ok..I downloaded Sara 1 back in the day, and have been to most of the places at 3d Universe, and Daz, and can't find Sara by herself..any chance of a URL location, etc? or just 'go to x, then y, then z'..I'm flexible..;) otherwise I'll just keep using sara 1, so there..;)

The only place you can download Sara2 is at DAZ, in the forum, same place you downloaded Sara1. It is the same download package: the model itself has been changed by Dark Whisper from 3dUniverse who created Sara.

So if you download Sara2, make sure you don't install her directly in your runtime because she will overwrite Sara1. Don't forget, for DAZ, it is the same model!!!

France Hum... what does "back in the day" means? I assumed it meant you downloaded Sara1 when she came out in November 2003 but after I wrote my reply, I thought maybe you meant earlier today? If that is the case, you have Sara2 and you'll never get Sara1.

Thanks every one.I have downloaded Sara during her early days.I have downloaded again and see today in the geometries folder;yes it is sara2.

Bienvenue Martial. Between Sara1 and Sara2, there has been a change also. It was to fix Sara's problem with her finger(s) I think. France

Yes, there was a change to fix the fingers, but I would much rather have had the old Sara to be honest. Calling a spade a spade, DAZ jerked users around with the "uglified update" because Sara was too similar to their GIRL figure (which funnily enough you have to BUY whereas Sara1 was free).

Eternl_Knight, I would say 90% of Poser users agree with you about Sara. BUT We founded a Sara's Fan Club last week and Sara, even Sara2, is becoming very pretty. With her head morphs and nose morphs by Digital Hippies and the new textures that were created by members of her fan club, etc. The way it's going now, Sara1 AND Sara2 will be very popular and have lots of nice clothes and accessories. So, I for one, will NOT buy GIRL. I hate that when I feel cheated and that's how DAZ made me feel by changing Sara1. Yes, I know, I read the interview with Dark Whisper, creator of Sara, who said that he changed Sara because she looked too much like GIRL and he wanted her to be unique. I'm sorry, but I don't believe it. I'm sure he had to change her because of DAZ. Why else would he have changed her for the worst? If it was only because he wanted to change her, he could have made Sara2 even prettier than Sara1, don't you think? France

Yup, I do think that's the case. I personally don't use Sara - the missus does. And the reason I am ticked off beyond belief is that they screwed my wife over by not mentioning that the "update" was really an uglified version and would overwrite the good looking one. As such, she's lost Sara1 for good and DAZ sure as hell isn't going to allow the old one to be distributed. It's put her off the whole Poser thing for the time being, as she feels betrayed. I know it's an over-reaction; my wife is a little melodramatic at times, but I love her :) Still makes my blood boil.

Well in this case, I don't think she was being melodramatic. I don't know which figures you use, but just imagine if that would have happened to your favorite? Free or not, it just wasn't fair to change the model and even less fair not to tell so that people who had Sara1 could not have her anymore! Imagine! I am frustrated about this and it's not as bad for me as it was for your wife. I never had Sara1. I bought Poser only 3 months ago. By the time I got at Daz to get Sara, it was already Sara2 BUT the preview and the figure are two different things. But tell your wife about Sara's Fan Club. Some members have both Saras, some have only Sara2. But we're trying to make Sara2 prettier and to get both of them a wide variety of clothes and accessories. France
