It may look like something out of an SF movie (and knowing Hollywood, it probably won't be long before it is), but this is actually a model of a real weapon, manufactured by FH Herstal of Belgium. Various bits turn and/or translate, and if you enable 'Use Limits' in the figure menu, then they won't go any further than they're supposed to either (hopefully). Oh, and you also get a spare 40mm grenade and a 5.56mm round. Cheers - Graham BTW - if you're thinking that the weapon looks strangely familiar, then you've probably played 'Splinter Cell' ;)

Cool, this is an extremely good model. I was only looking through a book on modern weapons and saw a photo of thsi and thought at the time it would be a good prop for poser. Thanks for giving it away!

Thank you for the model. Looks great. Usually this high quality is only found in products for purchase, thanks for making this a freebie, very nice of you.

Wow, that is an excellent model, thanks for sharing. And yes I did recognize it from SC. I'm actually playing Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow at the moment. Very cool game.

Thank you! =)

I have been playing about with my download of it with my MAKEOBJ and I found that:-

  • I brought the grenade down from 354 Kbytes to 186 Kbytes by removing the hidden internal surface and the normals (= the vn lines).
  • I brought the rifle down from 2558 Kbytes to 1505 Kbytes by removing the embedded grenade and cartridges (which are inside and hidden) and removing the normals.

Anthony, the grenade case has a modelled interior so that you can make the ogive (cap) and skirt transparent and use it as a spent round. I used this cutaway diagram to help me model the internal dimensions accurately. Hey, I'm a detail freak, you should be glad I didn't decide to model the complete grenade interior ;)

BAD ASS MAN!!!!!! thanks for such an excellent freebie gps.
Now if only some one would make a Sam Fisher type character for Poser that would be so perfect wink wink.
You make such great weapon models.

Thanks for the freebie GPS, really appreciated your hard work and fine attention to details. You know, they did tested the underbarrel grenade launcher of FN F2000 at the Blackwater Shootout last year, unfortunately the video links are not working, have a look here: http://www.afji.com/blackwater/blackwater4.html
