I've started a new project in which i am creating images of a small to medium sized town that will include various homes, businesses, and other things. The project will have scenes set in various times of history. I've created my first image for the project. It is a gas station around 1990 or so. Please take a look and give me any suggestions. I did not make the car in the garage but everything else in the image I created so I can adjust the models too if they look off. Thanks for any help you can give. P.S. If you want to see other images from the project (i'm in the middle of creating a diner right now from about the same time period) you can go to: http://www.mistiva-alley.com/hometown.html

hi ladymist95 and welcome to this place.

From looking at the gas station pic, I'd say the biggest thing to watch out for there is the scale of things with repsect to each other in the scene. The car looks pretty small compared to the person-door and the bowsers look a bit big wrt to the rest. So make sure that you use the same scale for all the elements (say 1 bryce unit to a foot as an example, or whetever you want) in the picture and let bryce take care of the perspective.

Also, in the building modelling - add some of the little things that appear on stations - like gutters, drain pipes, gasoline drums... those sort of little details. They'll help fill out and give character to the gas station.

Also, is it like a country gas station, or a city one - that'll effect what the roads are made of, what will go into the background... those kind of things.

Those are my thoughts, so hope they help. If not, just ignore them. Anyways, your off to a good start by the looks, and hope to see more of you around these parts.

Aye, it is a great scene-start! Just focus on a few details every day, and keep modeling and adding to it.. It will take on a life of it's own, with enough effort!

Nice start for sure... I would have to concur with Flak. Keep on posting WIPs... you will get some good constructive feedback here.

Pumps look a bit large, and there might be some other scaling that's off. Could use some foilage. Also needs pavement for around pumps/garage entrance. And of course there could be some dirt/grime on the building and pumps. Just keep working on it. It'll get there eventually.
