Hello, does anyone knows if there is a real difference between Poser4 and Poser Artist? I guess it is the same, but perhaps Im wrong and Poser Artist will have some usefull features more. Please let me know. Sivana

The Curious Labs web site describes Poser Artist as "Based on Poser 4." That doesn't really clarify things... "Based on" would imply that there is some substantial difference between the two products.

I was of the understanding that it was the same thing. I guess that I should go find out what the differences are....since we make products and all. --Rebekah--

Thanks, I guess the Poser Artist must be like Poser 4.03. So I do not need a change. Anyway I wonder wether Poser 5 would run on Win ME? Sivana

Personally, I don't recommend running Poser 5 on Windows ME. I had a devil of a time just running Poser 4 on WinME!!! Windows XP made all the difference for me. However, I still need to get a better CPU and more memory to make the experience easier all around.

According to the Poser Artist "about" screen, its Poser 4 V4.0.3.127

Yes, that sounds about right. When I first saw it mentioned, after I'd bought Poser 5, it seemed to be very much a re-branding exercise. Personally, I think the price difference is a bit narrow, and I could see a potential for some little extras which might have suited the home/school market that Curious Labs seemed to be talking of. Just a thought, but would anyone else care to recommend a figure and a prop (or set of props) which would be a fun thing for a Poser Artist user to get. I'll nominate the Little_Dragon Furrette 1.0 and Geralday's Photo Studio set, just to start things off.

My initial impression was that Poser Artist was basically Poser 4 in a new box. The original graphics on the box were potentially too "daring or stimulating?" I think it feature nude or semi-nude bodies, and some schools would not stock the package for that reason.
