Quick question. Using P4, what would be the best size and resolution to render an image ready for postwork in PS7? Jack

That depends what postwork you want to do. For painting hair, I would render at no less that 2000x2000 on a full face shot. (IE the hair will be within a 2000x2000 area - if your shot is full body you will need to adjust accordingly.)

It's a four figure, tight knit scene, no hair painting, candle lit. I seem to remember rendering at around the 2000 mark... but what about resolution? The standard is set at 72, but i seem to remember having it set to either 100 or 200. LOL, you have to forgive me, It's been a while since I did anything on poser... 19 months and memory isn't what it was. Jack

Changing the resolution won't affect the pixel size ... a 2000 x 2000 image is still 2000 x 2000, regardless of what the resolution is.

On the other hand, an 8" x 10" image at 150 DPI is 1200 x 1500, whereas at 300 DPI it is 2400 x 3000.

The only time you should be concerned with resolution is if you are going to have it printed. In that case, you find out the resolution of the printer, and set Poser to match that. Then, multiply the size of your print (8 x 10 inches for example) and multiply it by your target resolution to get your pixel size.

Hope that helps. PS - 72 DPI is equal to one inch on a standard 14" PC computer monitor (I think it's 75 on Macs). 150 DPI is about what a fax would require. 300 DPI is what most inkjet printers use. 600 DPI and up are usually for prosumer and professional printers.
