THE PLACE FOR ALL THINGS BRYCE - GOT A PROBLEM? YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE

Subject: PC vs MAC File Formats

Mahray ( ) posted Thu, 02 September 2004 at 2:11 AM · edited Mon, 29 July 2024 at 4:59 AM

Not having a Mac, I have an important question. Is there anything I need to do to make a zipped obp file mac compatable, or will it work out of the box (as it were). Mahray

The problem maybe with zipping the file, zip isn't a native mac thing, try downloading stuffit for PC and compressing the obp into a .sit file for mac users.

Stuffit Expander (which comes with all Macs) easily works with all zip files, so there's no need to save out a seperate file - the only problem you may run in to is Mac users with really old versions of Expander. And yes, the .OBP format is very bi-platform ;-) Best; Dan

Agree with Dan. Zip files are never a problem for me to open. It's the .exe files that I can't do a thing with. Mahray - thanks for asking. As a Mac user it's always nice to be included and be able to use what folks are offering be it free or for buying. ;-) Arry

Attached Link: Mac Compatability FAQ's

In case anyone's interested, there's a handy Mac Compatability FAQ's list in the Mac forum here at Rendo. I've left a link in case anyone wants to take a look. I've been using Macs for about 15 years and still learned something new.

sigh i love macs, i really do...they're wonderful...user friendly, fast, stable...STABLE... It's too bad there's so little that's compatible with them.

SOunds like I've been wasting my time making stuffit files for Mac, one of my mates said that ZIPs weren't supported, maybe he meant self extracting exe archives.
