I am currently working on the next Photoshop filter in my "Final Impact" series. This time it will focus on B&W film-style effects. See above for a quick preview sample.
I've always liked using coloured optical lens filters with traditional B&W film to enhance the tonal range captured, but now with digital cameras it's much easier to take pics in colour and edit them later in Photoshop. While there are a number of plug-ins already available for this task, I wanted to create something of my own ...
Some of you may already be aware that I offer several FREE filters in my "Fotomatic" range, so why would you want to buy this one? Well, I'm trying to incorprate many of the features into one single filter this time, so no having to switch between multiple plug-ins anymore. It's a time-saving tool again.
Is this the same as the Photoshop Channel Mixer? ... Well, you can produce the same kind of thing with that, but personally I find it much easier to do with BW-Ultra! Plus my filter offers additional features that can be applied at the same time, including Brightness, Contrast, Grain (3 different sliders), and RGB tint settings. So it makes a quick BW editing tool all in one-go. That's the aim anyway.
I'm still in the middle of developing this so if anyone has any suggestions for other features they'd like to see included then please feel free to let me know.
