Any time I use fog in a scene with a dark background one can see 3 different colors of fog. Looks like the picture is cut into stripes. Does anyone know how I can evitate this effect? Fog strength is 48 - really not dramatic. I attach a part of the scene, where you can see, what I mean.

I forgot to say: I use Vue 4. :))

Hi Britta, I use fog only to tune an atmosphere. If I need fog as an element of my image I take a cube and fill it with a volumetric material like 'thin white smoke' which gives me much more control over the settings. I know that's no answer to your question but maybe an alternative. BTW I would be glad to see a new image from you. Norbert

Never thought of the idea to use a cube to make fog. But I will give it a try. So, thanks for the hint. As to a new picture: I am rendering all the time, but as it is a work for a client, I can not show the pictures yet and this work leaves me no time to make pics for myself or the community. But I think in about 1 month I will come with some new stuff. In the meantime I only come to see the beautiful works of the other members and comment them. :))

Did you check the manual ? I seem to remember something about that in the Troubleshooting section, but since I am typing from work, I cannot double check right now :)

@Agiel: I thought this is a generall problem in Vue. But I just had a look in the manual. All I found is about noises in volumetric atmospheres. Nevertheless, thank you very much for thinking about my problem. :))
