Subject: The server is having a bad day!

I'm having a LOT of problems cruising through the forums today. Here's a sample of what usually greets me as I try to access different forums/topics: SQL Query Error: MySQL server has gone away Query was: SELECT ad_no FROM Advertisement WHERE ad_space='Super' SQL Query Error: MySQL server has gone away Query was: SELECT ad_no, bannerad_url, bannerad_code, impress_served, impress_max, buyer_email, contract_type, ad_weight FROM Advertisement WHERE status='A' AND NOW() >= contract_start_date AND (ad_space = 'Login' OR ad_space = 'Super') SQL Query Error: MySQL server has gone away Query was: SELECT ad_no, bannerad_url, bannerad_code, impress_served, impress_max, buyer_email, contract_type, ad_weight FROM Advertisement WHERE status='A' AND NOW() >= contract_start_date AND (ad_space = 'ROS' OR ad_space = 'Super') SQL Query Error: MySQL server has gone away Query was: SELECT ad_no, bannerad_url, bannerad_code, impress_served, impress_max, buyer_email, contract_type, ad_weight FROM Advertisement WHERE status='A' AND NOW() >= contract_start_date This shows up at the top of the page before the Renderosity banner. I also see goobledygook at the bottom, near the Web Ring area. I'm also getting a lot of SQL: Too many session errors. There's anywhere from 340 - 370 people showing as logged on. It keeps changing.

It's more of a bad afternoon - I've gotten this three times in the last two hours. Twice from accessing the RFI thread in the Tavern, so I thought it might be the culprit...

We're very aware of the problems. Can't really find anywhere to point the finger though. Just seems to be spikes in traffic causing it. We're making some tweaks behind the scenes to help further improve performance.

Sorry. I didn't see mjustmike's post until after I posted. I figured you guys probably knew, but I wanted to make sure. Not complaining, just trying to help. :-)
