Hello all

I was wondering if the attached copy of my library set up is correct. I do not have a "geometries" folder - not that I know what geometries means in Poser terms as I am still learning...but in some peoples screen dumps and tutorials I have noticed this folder amongst the sequence of folders and wonder if I have set up mine wrongly. I wonder if someone can also explain what the "geometry" item is? I hear about "geometries a lot on this forum but don't understand what they are. My Poser 5 manual doesn't seem to cover the subject looking at the index.

When importing files (characters etc) - does anyone know any useful tutorials that explain how to put the correct item into the correct folder. For example if I download a boxing ring that has texture for the mat then do I load the ring into the prop folder and the textures into the material section or?

Any help or direction would be appreciated.

Hi emearg, Here is a chart for Poser4. Poser5 is similar but has some added functions such as Material for the Material Room. Material Room files typically have the file extension ".nod" for node. Also, Poser5 uses compressed files and they are designated with a "z" in the last position of the file extension. example: "Facefile.fc2" (when compressed) ----> "Facefile.fcz" cheers, dr geep ;=]

Geometries are the actual wavefront 3d objects of your figures and stuff. It is an essential drawer and should be there.

I wouldn`t put my stuff in >My Documents< as it is too easy to delete them. e.g. if you use the disk cleanup the my documents folder comes up there as stuff that could be deleted.

Thanks Dr Geep and everyone for your advice. I must admit Poser 5 for myself is a challenge. But I'm getting there. At least with this forum I am keeping my sanity lol again - thanks all.
