I just noticed, and I love it! Great feature, well done!

I had mentioned this to Spike and Jen at Siggraph; Members REALLY want a similar "Next/Previous" added to the Challenge/contest area, so they can use this same feature when viewing the monthly Challenge pictures. Also, to be able to see the entrants name above their picture. I had done this when I was building webpages for the monthly Challenges before. Just a wish/suggestion. ;o) AgentSmith

I second AgentSmith. This was the first thing I asked for when I started managing challenges. It would be a wonderful feature, and it would help members not to skip images when they're browsing to choose which one to vote for. :)))

Now we only need the feature "View most viewed" or "View most commented" for the single artists' galleries to be happy! Thank you for adding the a.m. feature!
:rolleyes::sad:

One other thing I have wished for since long time: When I get an IM from an unknown member, I just want to look at that persons pages before I answer. As it is now I must copy his or her username and go to "Members" and look it up. Should be much easier if the sender of the IM was a cliclable link. Is that possible??
Glad to see people are enjoying the new feature. I will pass along the additional requests. 1. "Next/Previous" added to the Challenge/contest area. 2. Present the Sender of an IM was a cliclable link. 3. "View most viewed" or "View most commented" for the single artists' galleries. Hang tight...we have more goodies coming your way ;-) Hope you all have a great weekend! LillianH

..now the only thing to implement is a Control Panel option that will let clicks on the gallery list open a new window. 'New' windows are the norm at Renderosity, and often undesirable IMO - yet the one place they would be the most welcome -in the main gallery list- they're not implemented. The gallery is hard or impossible to reload from cache, so pressing the 'back' button is currently tedious, and the only solution is to hold shift (or command on a Mac)or open an entry from the contextual menu.
Sorry if I was unclear. When you click on a gallery thumbnail, either the new page opens in the same browser window or a new browser window. Different parts of the renderosity site behave in different ways in this respect. Some clicks give you a new window by default, others just go to the link in the same window. My point was that the one place a new window SHOULD open, is when you click in the gallery section, i.e. the large main gallery that we all look at first thing when we log in. Reason is that these pages are fairly slow to load and they have HTML code eritten in them to prevent them being cached in your browser, which means that every time you go to the page, it has to load from scratch. So clicking on a new gallery entry you like and then pressing 'Back' when you've done becomes tediously slow. Whereas if the gallery entry had opened in a new window, you could just close the window. I understand why the 'no-cache' thing is in effect with the main gallery, but the feature I propose would aid the usability of the site IMO.

Renderosity is pleased to let you know that we have implemented a new feature in the galleries so that you can view the "Previous / Next" image without going back to the page full of thumbs and picking an image. This feature is only enabled for viewing the different galleries or by artist. It is not enabled when viewing "Most Viewed", "Most Commented", or "Best Rankings" due to server load issues. We hope you enjoy this community requested feature. Best wishes, LillianH Renderosity Marketing & Promotions
