Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 21 4:30 pm)
That's where I had it set. I have texture filtering off, minimum shading rate 0.5 for production renders, pixel samples 3-4, bucket size 32, raytrace bounces 0, and post filter size sinc or glaussian type 2-4. Renders still look really soft and I get small black lines that show up at various points on the image, especially on the face. Any suggestions?
Try reducing your post filter size. Gaussian is good, but keep it small. You'll get very sharp images (not very well anti-aliased) with the post filter size at minimum. I find setting it to 2 seems to give me a good compromise between sharpness and anti-aliasing.

I usually use post filter size at 1 (crisper) and pixel samples at 8 (anti aliasing). Minimum shading rate at 1 also. And Raytrace bounces at 4, for refractions. Sometimes these settings block the firefly renderer (especially with some hair), so I decrease the bucket size to 32 or even 16 (I even got to 8 once !).

I'm a longtime Poser user, but am new to P5. I've tried using the Flyfly renderer a few times but the images are never sharp so I've started using the Poser 4 Render option in P5. Images are much sharper with the P4 Renderer. Can any of you experienced P5 users tell me how to get sharp renders from Firefly? Please be specific on what your settings are [there are soooo many!!!] Thanks, Renderholic
