Yeah, I've been tormenting Mikey 2 for some time now. He's taking it pretty well, all things considered. I'm mostly just playing with lighting these days, but this one may end up in my gallery if I keep liking it. So, any ideas about what to do next? Does the postworked version look better or worse than the raw Bryce render? Any ideas or comments would be very much appreciated...

This is great stuff SDL, get a sense of being claustrophobic and going to hell all at the same time. You didnt say, but Im assuming the image on the right is the post-worked image. Not much difference but I detect better shadows probably because the core is much brighter (more contrast) but if indeed that is the core, then I dont get a sense of its immensity because it seems close to the subject and therefore looks small in size. Perhaps some perspective to get the sense of falling down into the core is what is needed, just my 2 cents. P.S. Just realized that maybe the figure and bore should be viewed from above POV to get that sense of perspective and falling at the same time.

My imagination or does Mikey look old? Interesting work btw!

Very very nice. I like the postwork better, except for the pale-ing of the fire on the ground. I see you were going for a glow, but it seems a little off. Amazing job though.
