If they must be 3D, and you don't have Poser, why not try DAZ Studio?Jaymon, i thought about getting a 3d modelling program and doing it that way but i have a slight problem with that as well. I don't know how to use a 3d modelling program, i'm only new to Bryce and i'm still trying to learn that before i go into the modelling(using other programs) Guess i'll find something if not i'll try working on another image or waiting till there is a challenge that i can do.
Bec, i have downloaded it and installed it, you get one female model with it. the clothing you get is a fairy costume and thats it. For the image i'm wanting the crowd in i don't think one female in a fairies costume will look good LOL Unless you can download other human models(Freebies) that you can use in it the program is of no use to me :( Thanks anyway, you also Jaymon for pointing me in that direction. Looks an interesting program though.
There are a lot of freebie character models (I should know, I spent half an hour last night loading up 3 of them..;), go by Sixus1's site, there's a few people, and lotsa monsters, etc. Pierre Angelo has a freebie character called Hel (any relation to the Norse god?..;), female character, in fact; just go into 'rosity's freebies under Poser, then look at 'characters', and I know there's a few; Aliana, and some others. Studio Maya has the Maya doll, which might be poseable in Daz studio. There's lots of characters for Maya (clothes, hair, she's a convenient freebie to have..;)
3d Cafe` has some (non-poseable) characters there..Daz3d has some freebie stuff too, just don't remember a lot of characters there (imagine that..;).
Runtime DNA has a stock character, Dark Whisper had one, there's another called lalala from somewhere (at work, don't have my listings), which are a bit cartoonish, but if you need distant people (location, not temprament..;), they might do in the shadows..
I'm not sure if they're seperate characters, or based on Posette, but Mighty Lady has a whole stock crew of superheroes (may be good in the shadows as well).
good luck.

Check out geralday's site for low res human figures. (Free archive area..)Thanks all for your informatation. I'll not bother to carry on with this wip as i have just installed DAZ studio and have no idea how to use it yet.
If i need to use something else like Poser for some of these models you have let me know about then i'm sorry to say they wont be any good. I will inform you all i'm new to all of this and have no clue on poser or any programs like it, still learning bryce at the moment.
Thanks again, i'll look for something else to work on for this challenge, if not this one maybe the next one.

What kind of people do you need in the crowd? I could make you four or five alpha'd figures, you know, 2D pict-object figures with transparency masks, and you could replicate them into your scene yourself...? If you want, I'll do it for you. Just tell me if you want them in contemporary clothing, or medieval, or whatever... I often use 2D pict-based people in my scenes, cuts down on render times and memory use, as well as file size of course.
Shadowdragon thanks for the offer but i really do need a couple of models. The wip i'm doing needs to have a couple of models because of where the people will be standing(close to camera) if it wasn't for the fact of that i would use other ways to do the crowd. Even if i could get 3 models, male and female i could work the rest from that. The render time is no problem for me, i have two computers, don't work or go to school. Use of ram is no bother either i just upgraded to 1 gig ram and the computer i use bryce on doesn't have much installed on the 120 gig hard drive yet, if anything there is 13 gig used up on it :)

I'm in some bother here people and i'm getting frustrated with this wip i'm doing for the challenge. I'm looking for a model(freebie if possible) of a crowd of people or even one of 3-5 people will do i can expand from that, they must be textured. I have searched the net for the past 2-3 hours and all i can find are some in .max, ones for grrrr Poser, Lightwave and other formats i can't use or models of a single person with the arms raised unposable, no texture and they are bald. Please someone help me, i need a crowd for this months challenge also before i become totally frustrated and delete the whole WIP :(
