Subject: Make-Up without textures - problem (P5 nodes and alphas)

http://www.renderosity.com/messages.ez?Form.ShowMessage=1583045 At the above link I found a great idea about applying masks and alphas to avoid bundling full-blown 'make-up' textures with your character packages. So I've had some success, experimenting with imposing the hair/skullcap onto my 'Raquel' character, but I can't understand why the preview is so terrible (see pic below). Can anybody else work out why the regular Poser window is interpreting a mask as a texture and yet treating it (correctly)as an alpha when rendered? I thought I might be knackering my videocard, and so restarted with fresh RAM, etc, but that doesn't appear to be the problem. Any help appreciated!
