sorry forget image in other posting.

Now this is something i'm going to be working on for sometime so don't expect to see the finish of it soon.
I have a couple of questions for it though.

#1 is there to much lighting.

#2 is there to much shadow on the image or on the left of the camera.

#3 should i raise the camera angle up a bit more or leave it where it is.

#4 This one will not be easy, Does anyone know where i can get a couple of figures for it(walking if possible) now i don't have poser, don't have turbo importer(yet) and i don't have or will use DAZ Studio(personal resons)

Actually, the image uploaded fine. #1. I think you should reduce the lighting in the cross section some. It would probably look good a little brighter than the light around the columns. #3. The camera looks to me to be about knee to waist level. If you raised it or just pointed it up some it would give a bigger sense of scale(unless the roof is just out of view as is). It looks like it will turn out well.

i think it looks okay as it is, but it needs a few more details. other light sources might improve the look (lighting overall is fine). as for figures, just use robby. who wants a stinkin' poser figure you have to clothe and so on? :D drac

You know what, that looks just like that scene in StarWars Episode II where Obi-wan talks with Yoda and Mace as they sort of walk through the academy. The whole layout just reminds me of it a lot. As far as lighting, I think it could use more, but more contrasting lighting. Brighter lights where it counts, as opposed to 100 lights at a value of 10. Maybe some candles or something to line the pathway would look better. Essentially, its nice, though, so keep going and follow your intuition on what looks right.

For human figures, have you tried 3DCafe.com freestuff? (look under "anatomy"). Or baument.com archives? Those are the kind of sites I got figures from before I bought Poser...

Sparr, you know you star wars well. It is actually based on the Jedi Grand Corridor :) I was actually thinking of doing it along that theme but changed my mind over to more a fantasy look. drac i would use robby but i am really trying to get away from the sci-fi image, want to do something more on the fantasy/reality style.

How Detailed a character? One of the first meshes posted on baumgarten enterprises was a hooded monk figure. You can find two or three versions in his archives.

Aye, LunarTick, it's a GREAT scene! 1. Camera. If you point the camera up a bit, it will increase the vastness of the scene, or the SENSE of vastness. If you angle it down at all, it will increase urgency, and the sense of cramped space... 2. Shadows. I think the lighting is great, only I'm not sure where the shadow over the walkway is coming from. If the light is coming from the end of the hall, only, then that shadow shouldn't be there. Perhaps turn shadow-casting off on some of the interior lights? 3. Figures. I don't know if this violates any copyright laws, but I have purchased many, MANY figures over the years and have Poser 5, and offer you my limited posing and cloth-making skills. If you want a certain figure or two, just send me a message and I'll make some for you, and email you the .obj files and the texture maps, maybe I'll Brycify them for you so you won't have to mess with the textures...? Just an idea, someone can tell me if this is illegal or not but I think it is... 4. I'm impressed with your artwork and your use of Bryce... Good to have you around! - Jared

i think lighting is good as it is also compo is ok just continue as you go.

I've seen a posting of it in 'rosity a few months back (but don't let that stop you; heaven knows great models get recycled; and this looks like it could be handy) I think it's fine so far..

#1 the overall ammount of light is just right I think. #2 nope, but I'd make the collumns cast more blurred and/or subtle shadows on the floor #3 low angle gives a sense of scale, I like it :)

No help on your work, but two years ago I used that hallway in a render. Stupid Jedi Tricks

LunarTick, I think the lighting is just fine but you said youll be working on this for a while to come yet so chances are youll probably be adding lots of other stuff around the hall. As you do, youll find yourself adding dedicated lighting to help bring the objects out into crisper view so youll probably be making lots of adjustments on the lights as the project progresses. The camera, as it is now, gives a great sense of perspective and draws the viewers eyes towards the entrance. You can expound on this by adding more stuff along the path, perhaps statuettes or larges classic vases but dont overdo it, you might cause overcrowding and the look of clutter. I was thinking that you can also achieve the same perspective results from an overhead shot looking down towards the entrance but using the columns for the sense of perspective. This seems to be coming along nicely, keep us posted.
