Ok! Here are my final two images for the challenge. This image was acheived by clamping my 717 to the steering wheel of my car, sitting at the lights, shooting just before they changed then turning 90degs right on green. No postwork at all, except for presentation.

Here's the final one. A bridge over a dual carriageway. Dead of night, illuminated by three road lamps. About 20sec exposure time on this with a tripod of course. Again no postwork except the presentation.

First one cool but risky, excellent effect. Second one has interesting lighting and shadow effect, the way the camera sees light can have some interesting results.

OH - for the record - I too like the 2nd and 3rd images - but I really like the first one as well. Kind of reminds me of how my brain must look like when I am in a confused state of mind :) Dee-Marie

Dear Bodguard, What kind of lighting was present for these awesome images? I ask because the general outside lighting around here is the bluish kind, not the wonderful golden like high pressure sodium lights might produce. Just curious... These images are experiments turned fantastic. Clap! Blessing and Peace. TomDart.

bodguard ( ) posted Sun, 17 October 2004 at 6:36 PM

Hi Tom, they were sodium street lights, 3 of them, but they were hardly casting any light at all to the naked eye. As I stood on one end of the bridge, I could bearly see the other end save for the silouette created by the distant lights of the town. It was all down to the 20second exposure.

To help try to clarify Tom, here's the same image I shot with a 1 second exposure time. Belive me when I say I tried them all :))
