i need help in creating new figures. i converted an obj file and separated the mesh into separate parts and typed up my own heirachy file. but everytime i go to convert heirachy file, an error comes up saying "cannot read valid wavefront format geom file: 5". i have checked the files name and paths to the geometry resource in the heirachy file, and the individual names of each group in the file itself, but still i get this message. am i missing something to complete this process??

It looks like it may be a problem with the OBJ file itself. Which version of Poser are you using, MAC or PC, and what program did you use to create the OBJ?

The OBJ used was converted from a Half Life smd file using Milkshape 3d. Then imported into Poser 4 (PC version).

Try 3dExploration to convert half life .mdl format if possible. http://www.xdsoft.com/explorer/ See if it eliminates the errors.
